About the Healthy Well

You know what they say about well laid plans: they go awry.   That’s about what has happened here.  Initially, The Healthy Well was to be a weight loss journal as a requirement for an on-line weight loss group.  So, there I was all happy thinking that I was ahead of the game, and BOOM!.  The ball dropped.  The group leader told me  my registration was incomplete.  Oh Well!  Better luck next time, huh?

I’ll cut to the chase.

I’ve been very fortunate that I’m rarely sick.  One might say it’s a matter of strong constitution, genes, or healthy living.  I’m sure all play a part.  Aging never really concerned me much up to this point.  When I broke my lower leg in late May, what I knew as an active lifestyle was curtailed quite a bit.

In many ways, this blog is more of self-challenge to prove that I can get back what I lost over the last few months.  A long period of partial immobility has made me realize that I don’t bounce back as easily as I used to.   I don’t want to use my age as an excuse for not having a full recovery.

If anything I write is helpful to you, please share by leaving a comment.  More than anything, I’d like to be an encouragement to people of my generation who are entering their retirement years.
